Online business, for some, represents the dream of creating financial and time freedom and it is very very real. They are actively searching for a way out. They’ve been planning for it and they’re fully prepared to do whatever it takes. Those, in my opinion, are the minority.

I found many, either, naively believe any “to good to be true” story or they are in complete denial. They so desperately want it all but only if they don’t have to do anything different. Only if they never have change, stretch or be uncomfortable. With this group their is no real desire to actually be free. This fantasy (the wish) keeps them jumping from one thing to the next. Never committing. Never learning. Never going all out.

There are networkers that tout the merits of their business. The compensation plan is this or it’s that. The products are created with these organic and ethically practices etc. This not where the rubber meets the road. This is not the critical factor for success. There’s many great compensation plans and even greater products. In each of these business there are more people that fall through the cracks than find success. So if the comp plan isn’t key then what is?

Online business success depends on at least 3 things that are critical.

First, the seeker must come to grips with and accept that there is no free lunch. As my mentor Jeffrey Combs says “There’s a price to pay for success. And everyone pays up front and in full”. A real business takes real time, energy and commitment and only they themselves can make it happen.

Second, is evaluating “who” they will be working with. Who own the company? Can they be contacted? Who would work with you directly? Do they respond when you call or email them? Is there a money back guarantee? Can you trust them? Having great relationships with trusted partners who are dedicated to your success is more important than a compensation plan. Having someone you trust advise you on the best opportunities and steer you away from pitfalls is invaluable.

There is no perfect, risk-free solution when it comes to creating an online business. However, there are new examples of online business success everyday. Maybe this isn’t the right fit but if your ready (really ready) and your not prone to fantasy and denial, then
